Such ingrattitude towards Jehovah's theocratic arrangement is surely not going to go unoticed. Wait for the guilt inducing article telling everyone to be delighted about the new format!

Jehovah's Witnesses dismayed by new magazine format from Watchtower Society.
by Balaamsass inwow.
i was surprised this week by calls from active jws complaining about the new magazine format, and more begging for money from the platform.. frankly i was surprized by this reaction since this is old news to jwn members.
i guess actually shuffling to the bookroom and grabbing the new "awake tracts" minus the inside cover forward ...awakened many sleepy, catatonic, bored jws who never read the things or go on the internet anyway.. any feedback from other areas?.

This is the first visible and physical evidence to JWs gathering in any given KH that they downsizing - and they are not impressed.
For decades they heard and read stories of expansion everywhere. Full-speed they were going into the new system (order). Why, if anything else, their organization would increase and expand. Properties & moneys & lit & everyhing.
And now it hits them on the home front.
The tract-like Awake! does not even cut it as a second grade National Geographic magazine. And it looks cheesy, and they ask themselves how this inelegant paper will be perceived.
Believing in the 'highway of holiness' they are not used to lowering quality standards.

Professor Massimo Tistarelli:
"My sister gave me a copy of the book Life - How Did It Get Here? By Evolution or by Creation? published by the Witnesses. The careful research that had gone into this work impressed me." — 2/13, page 11
He must have done some lousy research, maybe just with the aid of the WTBTS library. Or else he would have found out about the quotes in that book.

"AFTER LAYING DOWN WATCHTOWER PUBLICATIONS, BY YEAR TWO YOUR IN SPIRITUAL DARKNESS!"
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inthe september 15, 1910 watchtower has russell going on the rampage of how a person "could get by with reading "studies in the scriptures without using the bible, and remain in the "light".
this same person "who decides to toss books in the trash, by year number two, loose all their light because the bible can't provide light by itself" you needed the "studies in the scriptures" to remain in god's favor, not the holy bible.. .
can someone please print this article to this op thread, to show the "lurkers" the organization believed the bible was not as valuable as the crazy literature russell and rutherford wrote.

I dug deeper into the teachings of my Mormon faith . . and became JW
by bats in the belfry inand also consulted with responsible mormon church leaders.
i was told that the answers to my questions involved mysteries that one day would be solved as the light became brighter.

Now, if he has questions, the elders will tell him to "wait on Jehovah".
Not a heck of an improvement in the quest for truth, if you ask me.

And, YES, Jesus wrote things down:
John 8:8 - "And once more he bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground."

Old time JW's did some very devout JW's refuse to eat pizza with pepperroni because they believed "blood" was in the pepperroni?
by booker-t ini have never heard this before until i read a life story of an ex-jws and how some jws in the past refused to eat pepperoni pizza because they thought blood was in pepperoni.
i do know some elderly jw sisters would complain about eating steak if it bled while cooking.
has anybody else heard of this pizza nonsense?.

In the 60s & 70s they wre all hyped up about red wines. - ox blood was in it.
Disrespect for God’s law is so rampant that whole blood, blood plasma and blood fractions are used freely in numerous products that are sold for food. For example, it is reported that some meat packers include blood as a part of their regular recipe for wieners, bologna and other cold-meat loaves. They may not all call it blood; but, regardless of what they call it, if it is blood or part of the blood it is wrong. Not all meat packers do this by any means, but some do. In certain localities it is also known that hamburger is made up largely of fat with blood added. In Russia blood bakeries were put in operation years ago where seven parts of rye flour are mixed with three parts of defibrinated ox blood in the bread. In other lands some bakers use dried plasma powder in pastry as a substitute for egg white. And various tonics and tablets sold by druggists show on their labels that they contain blood fractions such as hemoglobin. So it is necessary for one to be alert, to be acquainted with the practices in his community, to make reasonable inquiry at places where he buys meat and to read and understand the labels on packaged goods. As the old world becomes more careless in its attitude toward God’s law on blood it is important for Christians to exercise increased care if they are to keep themselves “without spot from the world.”—Jas. 1:27.
The Watchtower 1961, 9/15, page 557 par. 14
Due to illegal adulteration of a number of Italian wines, for example, many persons have in recent years and months unknowingly purchased concoctions made from apples and molasses, animal feed, figs and dates, synthetic alcohol and dried ox blood. The Italian police reportedly tracked down about ten million gallons of adulterated wine in 1970 alone. This would suggest that anyone buying wines, especially travelers, must exercise care.

. . . the publisher refuses to put his signature on the piece of paper. Will they still accept him/her as such?
Also, the very first Publisher Record™ card autographed seems to be retained indefinitely. The same is true of the last record card of an inactive publisher.
Is this corporate function still practiced? Does it jive with any data protection act?

1914 - It was the end of the world as we knew it - things got much better!
by TheStumbler ini was having a conversation with a jw relative recently i casually mentioned how much better the world is than a few centuries.
obviously the jw was incredulous.
the next day i found an email in my inbox listing a few qoutes from notable people saying how the world has gotten much worse since 1914 and that 1914 was a pivitol year.
